              ALHASSAN BABA SHARDOW D.1939

 

 

              He was the eigth child of Chief Zubeiru Shardow Muleh.

           He was a warder with the Ghana Prisons Service

           but unfortunately died rather young while still in service.

           His first wife was Azumi with whom he had Adio Baba Shardow.

           His second wife was Aishatu Mahama with whom he had his

           second son Alhassan Baba Shardow (aka. Alhaji Maida)

                       Adio Baba Shardow (1927-1997)

 

 

 

            First son of Baba Alhassan Shardow and Azumi.

            He was tweive years old when his father died.

            He became a professional jockey. He was never

            married and had no children.

            He died on the 15th of August 1997.

              ALHAJI ALHASSAN BABA SHARDOW ( b. 31.07.1939)

                            (aka. Alhaji Maida)

 

Alhaji Maida was born on the 31st of July 1939, twelve days

after the death of his father, Alhaji Alhassan Baba Shardow. 

His mother was Hajia Aishatu Mahama.  He attended Accra

Royal School, Jamestown ( 1946-1952), Korle Gonnor Royal

School  (1952-1954) and Odorgonor Sec. School, (1954-1957.)

After teaching for a year he gained employment with the

Lands Commission in 1959 and was transferred to Takoradi. 

In 1962 he was seconded to the Volta River Authority as a

Lands Inspector working on the Afram Plains.

In 1965 he was given a government Scholarship to take a

three-year course in Estate Management at the Kwame

Nkrumah University for Science and Technology.

On being promoted to the rank of Senior Inspector of Lands,

he was transferred to Bolgatanga,  where he remained for

fifteen years.

 He retired from public service on the 31st of July 1999 as an

Assistant Chief  Inspector of Lands.
