CHIEF SULEIMAN MOHAMMED SHARDOW

                        (1885-1934)

The first son of Chief Zubeiru Shardow Muleh. He worked in the Government Printing Office, Accra. He succeeded his father and became the Chief and family head in 1922. He had seventeen children. He died on Friday, 2nd November 1934.

  • MARIAMA SHARDOW (Auntie Awalo): Daughter of Chief Suleiman Shardow and Habiba Cofie (Awaanye). She died in 1964. Unfortunately her photograph is not available.

  • 4th  Wife: Habiba Cofie (Awaanye) Her first marriage was to Chief Aruna Nelson the Tabom Manche, with whom she had three children, namely Anuwa (b.1902), Zinatu (b.1904) and Awa (b.1906). Her second marriage resulted in the birth of a daughter, Adjoa Aleke (b. 23rd Dec 1910).

  • 5th Wife: Muniratu. She was a Yoruba from Obuasi. She was Chief Suleiman's last wife. He married her in 1932, barely two years before he died. They had no children together.
